Deputy Service Manager
Location: Preston, Lancashire
Salary: £31,672.50 pa

Contract: Full time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
About the Role
We’re seeking a compassionate and driven Deputy Service Manager to join a supported living service in Preston. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure the delivery of exceptional care and support for adults with learning disabilities.
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, supervising a team of Support Practitioners, ensuring compliance with CQC standards, and promoting independence and choice for the people supported. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step up and make a real difference, with excellent scope for career development and progression.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is a requirement for this position.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, support and supervise a team of Support Practitioners, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Hold delegated responsibility for daily operations, safeguarding, and health & safety compliance.
- Promote a positive, person-centred culture across the service.
- Act as a role model on shift (20% of weekly hours), supporting best practice and team learning.
- Participate in on-call duties to ensure 24/7 service continuity.
- Work closely with the Service Manager to maintain continuous quality improvement and drive service excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant, recent management experience within learning disabilities in regulated services.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and health & safety.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage performance and inspire a team.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care (or Level 3 with willingness to complete Level 5 within 18 months).
- Excellent IT and record-keeping skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
